11 Mar 2010 - IAC To Make Independent? Study of IPCC Procedures

The IPCC requested the InterAcademy Council (IAC) to make an "independent" review of IPCC procedures due to all of the problems uncovered recently. The catch is that the IAC neither independent nor unbiased. The outcome will be another greenwash. See the new ICA for IPCC page for details.

10 Mar 2010 - Study Contradicts Obama's Energy Secretary Chu

A study of temperatures and precipitation in the US Midwest attributes the lack of warming in the Midwest to increased precipitation due to irrigation. 9 Mar 2010 - AGW Believers Exhibit Signs of Religion

Anthropogenic global warming believers often exhibit signs of religion - "Climatism". A judge in the UK ruled that global warming belief fit the definition of religion. See the new Climatism / EcoReligion page for details. Climatism is also the title of the new book by Steve Goreham (read review here) which covers the IPCC and the climate industrial complex.

7 Mar 2010 - Al Gore Gets His Facts Wrong (Again)

2 Mar 2010 - Graphing Tool Updated With 2009 CRU Gridded Data

The Hadley Climatic Research Unit (CRU) has released gridded the data through Dec 2009. This data has now been added to the AIS Climate Data Visualizer providing graphing of the data. Land (CRUTEM3) and sea (HadSST2) temperature data are now available in the graphing tool.

25 Feb 2010 - CRU Says Warming in Only 10-20 % of Grids - Where?

One of the CRU emails states that the late 20th century warming is only significant in 10-20% of the world's 5x5 degree grids. Warming is absent in most grids. The Texas region has been added to the search for warming. See the updated Seeking Warming page.

24 Feb 2010 - Colorado River Flow Decline Not Related to AGW

The Colorado River flow, which feeds Lake Powell, has been slowly declining since the 1920s. Despite the alarmist claims, the data show no relation to AGW. 23 Feb 2010 - Washington Post Promotes AGW Socialism

The Washington Post is promoting the use of a carbon tax as a means of "progressive" wealth redistribution. The Post also perpetuates myths about imported oil and the lack of scientists who disagree with the IPCC. See the new AGW Socialism page with details.

22 Feb 2010 - Jeffrey Sachs Joins Guardian's Propaganda Campaign

Jeffrey Sachs (Director of the UN Millennium Development Goals, which promotes a carbon tax on rich countries to redistribute wealth) has joined the Greenpeace activists who regularly write the Guardian's global warming propaganda. See the updated Double Standard page with details.

20 Feb 2010 - South Carolina Warming - or Not

Alarm! Alarm! South Carolina has warmed 1.5 degrees in the last 50 years! But it was warmer in the 1920s. The long term data show that there was a brief cool period in the 1960s - then the temperature returned to the normal range. See the South Carolina regional study page for details.

19 Feb 2010 - Alarmists Confuse El Nino with Global Warming

Global warming causes everything for the alarmists. In Vancouver it causes insufficient snow for the Olympics. In the southeast US it causes snow storms. 16 Feb 2010 - California Fog Increase/Decrease from Global Warming

15 Feb 2010 - Medieval Warm Period Red Herring of Globality

CRU's Phil Jones interview with BBC stated a common red herring about the Medieval Warm Period (MWP) - that it was not global. This is a red herring because the recent warming is not global either. Both were northern hemisphere phenomena. CRU emails say the MWP was likely at least as warm. See the new MWP Globality page for details on this.

14 Feb 2010 - Florida Manatees Will Die as Power Plants Close

Florida manatees have been dying in record numbers due to the cold weather. The power plants they rely on will be closing over the next several years. The Gulf Coast temperatures have been decreasing (although enviros blamed red tide on warmer water when it was cooler). See the new Manatees page for details on this.

13 Feb 2010 - EPA Ruling Creates Pollution and Starvation to Reduce CO2

The EPA has ruled in favor of increasing particulate pollution by mandating large increases in the use of biofuels: "the emission changes are projected to lead to increases in ... cases of adult premature mortality." 3 Feb 2010 - Australian Sea Turtles Face Major Global Warming Issues?

A study warns that sea turtle eggs will die in the heat of the sand on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, as well as lose the beach to sea level rise. However, an examination of the actual climatic data shows no warming and very little sea level rise. 20 Jan 2010 - Wisconsin Trying to Eliminate Warming

19 Jan 2010 - Glaciers Receding Since Before Anthropogenic CO2

Glaciers around the world have been receding since observations were recorded in the 1800s and the Little Ice Age ended. The IPCC's bogus Himalaya claims have recently been exposed. 16 Jan 2010 - Puffins Decline In UK Blamed on Global Warming

The media blame UK puffin declines on global warming, even though they have in general increased over the last couple of decades. Turns out it's a combination of overfishing of sandeels and the North Atlantic Oscillation affecting zooplankton populations. See the new UK Puffins page with details.

15 Jan 2010 - Australia Suggests Eradicating Feral Camels to Cut CO2

Australia - federal opposition agriculture spokesman says eliminating Australia's feral camels would mean huge savings in carbon emissions - even though warming in Australia stopped more than a decade ago. See the new Australia Camel Kill page with details.

6 Jan 2010 - Oceanic Oscillations Correlate With Global Climate Phenomena

Oceanic oscillations correlate with global and regional climate phenomena (unlike the lack of correlation to CO2). The AO / NAO correlate to European temperatures and glaciers. ENSO (El Nino) drives global temperatures. The PDO controls western North America temperatures. The AMO correlates with Atlantic hurricanes and Sahel rainfall. 29 Dec 2009 - Nature Admits No Real Evidence for Anthropogenic Causation

Nature published an editorial admitting there is no real evidence of anthropogenic greenhouse gas warming - just computer models. There is no empirical data to support it. 28 Dec 2009 - BYU Profs Say Utah May Sustain Serious Damage

Several Brigham Young University Earth Scientists sent a letter to the state government claiming that Utah may sustain serious damage due to a warming climate. 27 Dec 2009 - AIS Station Data Graphing Map Interface Added

The AIS climate data graphing tool has been enhanced with a map-based interface for station data graphing of temperature anomalies. See the updated AIS Climate Data Visualizer providing graphing of individual station and 5x5-degree area temperature anomalies by clicking on station locations on a map.

24 Dec 2009 - 1976 Climate Shift Caused All Warming Unitl 1997

The late 20th century warming occurred in two step changes. The first was the 1976-78 climate shift resulting in half the warming (until the 1997-98 El Nino). CO2 was not involved - the Aleutian Low and PDO are highly correlated with the event. See the revised 1976-78 Climate Shift page with much new info.

18 Dec 2009 - Obama Wraps UN Copenhagen COP15 Meeting

Obama addressed the UN Copenhagen meeting on its last day saying how the "climate change phenomenon" has been accelerating. At least the "most vulnerable" countries got what they wanted - more money. See the updated UN Copenhagen Scam page with this ending of the COP15 scam.

17 Dec 2009 - Rep. Markey Misleads the Public

Rep. Ed Markey (D) Massachusetts (coauthor of the Waxman-Markey House cap-and-trade bill) is trying to mislead the public. On the CNN Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer, he states: "Alaska is now 6 degrees warmer in the winter than it was 50 years ago." The actual data tell a different story. 16 Dec 2009 - CRU Siberia Data Shows Lack of Warming

The Hadley Climatic Research Unit (CRU) recently released station data. A comparison of the NOAA GHCN data with the CRU stations and CRU gridded data shows that the warming exhibited in the data for central Siberia is insignificant. 27 Nov 2009 - IPCC Chairman Says Fear Defines Dangerous Global Warming

IPCC Chairman Pachauri says the definition of danger resulting from global warming is not a scientific issue but defined by fear and consideration of equity. See the updated Vulnerability page examining the contradictions between areas claimed to be vulnerable and where warming is occurring.

22 Nov 2009 - CRU Emails on MWP and Unprecedented Warming

11 Nov 2009 - India - Government Denies Global Warming

India says it will not reduce emissions. The government says there is no link between warming and CO2. Post monsoon warming has occurred due to reduced cloud cover, whereas increased black carbon emissions have caused some cooling. See the new India regional climate study page.

9 Nov 2009 - Climate Industrial Complex

Eisenhower said "there is a recurring temptation to feel that some spectacular and costly action could become the miraculous solution to all current difficulties". 11 Oct 2009 - Hansen Proves Global Warming is Natural, Not CO2

A popular news item in July 2009 - Fish Shrink due to Global Warming - blamed reduced fish body size in Europe on (what else?) global warming. 25 Sep 2009 - The Arctic Exhibits Multi-Decadal Recurrent Cycles

An examination of the HadCRU historical temperature data for the Arctic reveals recurrent temperature cycles showing a 60-year cycle with a strong correlation to the AMO - not CO2. See the new Arctic Cycles page documenting the temperatures and cycle correlation.

15 Sep 2009 - Greenland Exhibits Multi-Decadal Recurrent Cycles

The African Union met in Ethiopia this week and concluded that the rich countries should pay $65 billion per year to Africa because of global warming. The alarmists frequently state that the Pacific Northwest Cascade Mountains snowpack has declined 30 to 50% since 1950. 6 May 2009 - Tropical Pacific Sea Surface Temperatures Drive Global Temperatures

The tropical Pacific sea surface temperatures (SST) correlate almost exactly with the global average temperatures - unlike any other region. According to the IPCC, tropical temperatures have not been affected by CO2. 16 Apr 2009 - Antarctic Wilkins Ice Shelf Annual Collapse Event

The media portrays the collapse of the Wilkins Ice Shelf as a unique disaster. They do this each year, often using the same photo. But the Wilkins Ice Shelf disintegrates on an annual basis and re-grows each year. Warm south pacific water hitting the Antarctic Peninsula is the cause. 5 Apr 2009 - Arctic Region Study Shows No Connection to CO2

The Arctic regional study has been updated with information from various recent studies examining Arctic climate change and decrease in sea ice. Sea ice has decreased as a result of wind patterns associated with the Arctic atmosphere Dipole Anomaly as well as increased warmer water inflow through the Bering Strait.
